Van Halen | Tattoo

There has been a lot of anticipation of what the new/old Van Halen will sound like. The time is here as Van Halen released the new video for the single Tattoo. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what people expected with the updated version of Van Halen with David Lee Roth returning to vocals, Eddie Van Halen on guitar, Alex  Van Halen on drums, and Wolfgang Van Halen on bass. The slow groove sounds like something that could have been on one of the later Van Halen albums. First thought was that it reminded one of the David Lee Roth solo era, when people wondered why they didn’t do songs like that in Van Halen.

To give it a fair shake, I would recommend not trying to watch the video when first listening to the song as they have trouble syncing up the audio to the video at times.
